Community organizations like Jewish for Good have always been at the heart of fostering connection, growth, and belonging. As a vibrant, multi-faceted hub, Jewish for Good seamlessly integrates diverse programs under one roof, serving people of all ages and stages of life. From enriching early childhood education to empowering older adults, they exemplify how a community can thrive when united by a shared purpose. But even the most impactful organizations face challenges as they scale — and that’s where their partnership with Daxko transformed the game.
Challenges in a Growing Community
Jewish for Good’s mission has always been bold: to serve their community with programs that create meaningful connections and lasting impact. However, as their programs and membership grew, cracks began to appear in their operational foundation.
Disjointed Systems and Inefficiencies
According to Jill Madsen, CEO of Jewish for Good, “The biggest piece for us is like having everything in one place that it’s really easy to be able to look somebody up and be like, are they a member? Not a member. Do they volunteer? Not volunteer. Are they a donor? Not a donor. What are some of the things that they’ve registered for in the past? And like, you can see all of that in one place.”
Previously, staff spent significant time piecing together scattered data across multiple platforms. Without a single system of record, key details about member participation and engagement were difficult to track, leading to inefficiencies and missed opportunities.
Surging Demand for Camp Programs
Camp programs, one of Jewish for Good’s most popular offerings, saw exponential growth. While a sign of success, this surge strained resources, putting pressure on the team to maintain quality amidst the chaos. Jill reflected, “We’ve created things for families all year. There are regular communications that go out to families that have kids, and we make it easier for parents by connecting programs so they can get to work or wherever they need to go.” She continues to mention, “Every year it’s gone up about a hundred camper weeks. And that we literally have not had to do anything. We do not do anything for promotions. We send an e-blast out that says, here’s when camp registration opens. That is literally it.”
Data and Insight Gaps
Without centralized data, Jewish for Good struggled to fully understand how their members engaged across different programs. This created challenges in personalizing outreach and optimizing services.
” We started putting all of our donor relations, program registrations, and other critical data into Daxko so that everything would be accessible to anyone who needed it. It was a game-changer for managing our operations,” Jill noted.
These challenges threatened to hinder Jewish for Good’s momentum, but their partnership with Daxko turned these obstacles into opportunities.
A Game-Changing Partnership with Daxko
Partnering with Daxko allowed Jewish for Good to reimagine their operations and unlock their full potential.
Unified, Centralized Systems
Daxko’s platform brought all operations under one roof. From registration to participant tracking, the team could now manage everything seamlessly. Jill shared, “During COVID, we learned very quickly, like we need to have plans for, like, what if one of us gets abducted by aliens or something? And so, all of the random things that I just know in my head about different people, we’ve started putting into Daxko. Now, if I were to disappear tomorrow, someone else could look up everything they need to know.”
Efficient, Automated Processes
Tasks that once consumed hours, like managing forms and creating attendance sheets, were fully automated. “The platform has taken off the plate some of the tedious administrative work. We used to have someone manually creating rosters weekly for camp groups. Now, that’s all automated, freeing us to focus on other priorities,” Jill said. She also mentioned, “We literally used to have somebody that would make the rosters for every single camp bunk every single week. Like, and now it’s just there. Like, and you don’t have to do anything with it.”
Scalable Solutions for Growth
With Daxko’s support, Jewish for Good scaled their camp programs without missing a beat. Over three years, they achieved a 40% increase in camp registrations, serving over 2,000 camper weeks annually.
Our facilities have grown significantly, and our operating budget has nearly tripled since 2015. The demand for our programs reflects the growth of the community we serve, and our ability to adapt is what sets us apart. Technology like Daxko has been a critical part of that journey.
Transforming Camp Programs: A Cornerstone of Engagement
For Jewish for Good, camps are more than just seasonal programs; they’re gateways to lifelong community connections.
- 40% Growth in Camp Week Registrations: Over three years, Jewish for Good expanded capacity while maintaining the quality families expect.
- Enhanced Family Engagement: Centralized data allows for personalized outreach, keeping families connected throughout the year.
- Innovative Solutions for High Demand: Scalable technology ensures that even as demand grows, operations remain seamless for both families and staff.
“We’re at capacity with camp right now. We’ve gotten creative the last couple of summers, finding makeshift spaces to accommodate more groups, but now there are no more makeshift spaces,” Jill noted.
Operational Precision Through Data
With Daxko’s data-driven insights, Jewish for Good gained clarity into their operations and member engagement. By centralizing their data, they could better understand participation trends, tailor programs to meet the needs of their community, and make informed decisions.
Jill explained, “Having everything in one place has made a significant difference in how we use data effectively. It allows us to be more strategic in our decisions, ensuring that our programs truly serve our community.” These insights also drove innovation across programs, allowing the organization to expand offerings and maximize their impact.
Empowering the JCC Movement Through Collaboration
Jewish for Good’s transformation is a blueprint for the broader JCC movement. Their journey demonstrates the potential of strong partnerships between JCCs and Daxko to elevate operations, grow membership, and deepen community impact.
“Our facilities have grown significantly, and our operating budget has nearly tripled since 2015. The demand for our programs reflects the growth of the community we serve, and our ability to adapt is what sets us apart. Technology like Daxko has been a critical part of that journey,” shared Jill Madsen, CEO of Jewish for Good. This growth is a testament to how technology and intentional planning can help JCCs meet the evolving needs of their communities while remaining true to their mission.
