DAXKO Named One of Birmingham's Best Places to Work

10/4/2007

For the second year in a row, DAXKO has been recognized as one of the best places to work in the Birmingham metro area.  The top companies were chosen based on the results of an employee survey which measured retention risk, trust in management, and team effectiveness.

The award, presented by the Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ), honors those companies that have “created the type of atmosphere that makes individuals want to go to work,” commented Melanie Dickinson, BBJ publisher.  “To get the right people, companies have to provide some innovative perks and benefits.  Often, this is what helps companies attract the best and brightest employees.”

In a special section dedicated to the winning companies, the BBJ highlighted some of DAXKO’s benefits and perks, including its flexibile paid time off policy, 401(k) matching, college savings plan, YMCA/JCC subsidy, and self-directed professional development allowance.  The article also mentioned a few of DAXKO’s more fun and unique perks, like catered lunches, innovative workspaces, casual dress code, and “behemoth coffee contraption.”

DAXKO placed sixth in the medium-size company category.  Honorees were recognized at a special luncheon held at the Harbert Center on October 4.
